Association for Women in Communications
Information Kit
In Spring of 2020, I took a course titled Public Relations Writing and Production. During the semester-long course, my group and I were tasked with acting as an advertising agency. Our client, the Department of Mass Communication, was looking to increase campus involvement and increase membership enrollment for an organization on their campus. The organization is the Association for Women in Communications. Below, you will find an information kit of the work my team and I put together. All the work displayed was developed as a team unless stated otherwise.
Bulletin Board
This bulletin board was displayed in Johnson Hall on Winthrop's campus, where the Department of Mass Communication is located. The board features the AWC slogan "Your Words Have Power" as well as photos of active members and quotes from famous women in communications. There was also a small information slip that students were encouraged to take with them in case they wanted to research more about AWC at Winthrop University.

Display Board & Flyer
I was the project manager for this portion of the assignment. My role included designing the final graphics and assigning and managing team roles to ensure the project was completed correctly and on time. The display board (top) and the flyer (bottom) were both designed with the AWC slogan "Your Words Have Power" in mind. AWC's colors, as well as photos of current Winthrop chapter members were included in order to create clear brand recognition.

Radio Spot
This radio ad was created in order to be aired on Eagle Air, Winthrop University's radio station. This advertisement was created to promote the Association for Women in Communications across the campus. The radio spot was set up as a phone call to mimic a friendly conversation between a current member and a potential new member of AWC.

Social Media Virtual Event
This social media campaign was a week long event, used to promote the Association for Women in Communications. We noticed that Winthrop's AWC chapter didn't have much interaction on their social media accounts, specifically Instagram. We decided to create buzz by designing a virtual event that offered users a little competition and a chance to win a prize. For seven days, we posted clues about famous women in communications. Each day, participants were asked to guess the woman by commenting with their answer in the comment section of that particular post. Each comment equaled one point, and each tag equaled one point. By tagging a friend, this created more exposure for the organization and the department.
